TABLE /1
Birch plywood dining table designed for the Marina apartment. The CNC manufactured table top has been cut from 24mm plywood to wrap around the curve of the shower partition creating a generous area for dining. The narrow end of the table is primary ancillary worktop for the kitchen, turning it into a galley configuration but can be used as counter seating if the space is needed. At the other end, the form of the table bulges out into an organic form that has been designed to maximise capacity whilst allowing free movement around the outside, comfortably accommodating 6 people without encroaching into the living space.
The table is supported by a single leg that follows the curve of the wall and an elegant central post, both formed from bent plywood, with no additional bracing. The simplicity for the structure means that legroom is unrestricted and more people can be seated comfortably. |
