Lightweight birch plywood stool designed for the Marina apartment.
The stool was designed to be slotted together from a CNC template that could be added to offcuts from the various joinery pieces that comprise the redesign of the apartment. It is deliberately low with a slender profile so as to not obscure the more sculptural elements of the apartment, as might be the case with a high backed chair, and also broad, 40mm wider than the classic Aalto stool, meaning that it can be repurposed as a side table when not in use.
The profile of the legs uses the same sinuous curved forms of the apartment with the two sections slotting together to form a central stem supporting the centre of the seat.
